The comments on this page are viewed by me before being published. This blog is here purley to help people who are having or are thinking of having this kind of surgery. The only surgeon I can personally recommend is the surgeon that did my sleeve. I am sorry your posts are not appearing but I will not advertise for other surgeons as I do not want to seem to recommend. People can read my experience and take it how they wish but they will have to do thier own research into the actual surgeon they choose.
Hi, I enjoyed reading your story, thanks for sharing. I am 60 years old and have been overweight my whole life. 205 lbs. at 5'7". I do not feel good. Would you recommend the gastric sleeve over the lap band?
ReplyDeleteYou look great - congratulations on the hard work! Sissy in Texas
Thank you Sissy. My surgeon told me these are the options, do research and you choose. After my research I did think the sleeve would be better for me and I am so glad I made that choice. Its not an easy road and there is no turning back, but I can say I would not change my decision for the world. I am happier and healthier than I have ever been. I have learned so much about food in the last 2 and a half years. The band does work for some people but there is a higher chance of complications having a foreign object inside you. The maintainance involved was too much for me. The one good thing I suppose, is, you can change your mind and have it taken away. For me, this had to be for life.
ReplyDeleteHi Jacky.. You look fantastic! I am about 3 and half weeks post op and I am truly miserable. I have lost a little over 22lbs but I can hardly eat a thing. I feel tired and deprived and I have a meltdown almost once a week. I have a ton of questions and I don't know anyone that has undergone this procedure. Your blog definitely made me a feel a little bit better but I was wondering if I could email you and ask you questions pertaining to my concerns. My email is kimsacco21@gmail.com. It would be great to hear from you. Please keep doing what your doing, you and your blog are truly an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHi I just read your blogs and hearing good results make me more excited of my decision. I am 32yrs old weigh 275lbs and have started my process of having the sleeve surgery. I get cold feet sometimes but I know I must go forward BC in long run it will be good for me. I have 3 small children and want to be healthier for me and them. I keep looking at peoples before and after pics and I get super excited and keep thinking man I can potentially be this weight by this time. You look great thanks 4 sharing your experience.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments. It is amazing to feel healthy again. So good to be able to do more with children. A couple of weeks ago I was running up a hill and then rolling down it again with my niece. You know at one point I stopped and had a flash back to the point where I would never have even made it up the hill and nearly burst into tears. One of my actual turning points was when my very young neice said to me, 'Auntie you are so fat I cant put my arms around you' It was in a shop and other people heard it. I was so hurt, but as the say.. From the mouths of babes! it was true. So to be able to be fun Aunt and play on that hill with her was just amazing.
